Poetically Man Dwells

In the essay, Poetically Man Dwells, Martin Heidegger explored the meaning of Friedrich Hölderlin’s phrase “Poetically Man Dwells.”

Dwelling wasn’t used as it’s literal meaning but in a more broader perspective including the earth itself. He claims that man only defines this by the things can be seen (sky up ahead and the ground beneath his feet). Then comes to the point with the discussion of mens need to measure the dwelling between sky and earth. After adding the poetic view to the observation states that this dwelling is actually between heaven and earth. As heaven is beyond measurement and unknown beyond the sky he states that the measurement is not realistic but perceptible. To conclude he claims the connection between poetry and dwelling cannot be unseen and it is natural as their existence together.
